HLTPAT005 REFRESHER TRAINING OPTIONS
Refresh Your Drug and Alcohol Testing Training
It is a key priority for organisations conducting drug and alcohol testing to ensure their staff remain compliant with legislation and standards.
The Oral Fluid Testing Standard AS/NZS 4760:2019 defines a collector as “a person who has successfully completed a course of instruction… and demonstrates ongoing competence.”
A competent person is defined as a person who is appointed or designated to perform specified duties based on knowledge, experience and training.
Our refresher training course is designed to assist collectors (drug and alcohol testing officers) to maintain knowledge and currency and can be used to demonstrate an ongoing ability to perform the related responsibilities of the role.
From an employer perspective, employing competent staff greatly increases safety and production onsite, having staff complete refresher training helps to demonstrate that reasonable measures are taken to ensure staff remain competent.
Our refresher training course options have been developed for participants who have already achieved a valid Statement of Attainment for workplace drug and alcohol testing and wish to meet workplace, industry or other requirements for refresher training.
Participants will revise the theory and practical elements of carrying out a range of workplace drug and alcohol testing and also the related record-keeping requirements of performing these duties:
• Urine Sample Collection and Testing
• Oral Fluid (Saliva) Sample Collection and Testing
• Breath Alcohol Testing / Breathalyser Operation
