Delivers HLTPAT010 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (supersedes HLTPAT005).

HLTPAT005 has been superseded by HLTPAT010 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing. If your organisation conducts drug and alcohol testing, transitioning to HLTPAT010 maintains compliance and the legal integrity of your testing program.

Before you enrol

Prerequisites

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. From 1 July 2025, RTOs assess Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills before enrolment into accredited training. Participants must complete the course in English (spoken and written), work autonomously, and make judgements within their job role in collection centres and workplaces where drugs of abuse testing takes place.

Before you register

How does the webinar practical work?

After completing online theory and feeling confident, you book a webinar session (about 1–2 hours) with an assessor. Theory is reviewed, and you prepare a sample for laboratory analysis using equipment Progressive Diagnostics sends you. Documentation is submitted for verification. Zoom is the default platform.

What credential do I get?

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTPAT010 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing, plus a competency wallet card.
